June 30, 2023 Dear Riley Families, Students and Staff, The time has come for me to wish you all a wonderful and safe summer. Many of you are probably already catching a flight to the Caribbean, driving down the shore, or planning the next few weeks for some sunshine and fun. My time at Riley is coming to an end and I thank you all so much for your ongoing support, generosity and cooperation in making sure our students received the care and support they needed. To my students, my shining star; you have brought me so much joy during this entire year. I will always remember your wonderful hugs every day; your cards and notes of appreciation. It was so fulfilling to see your smiling faces and hear your laughter from your funny jokes and comments. Thank you, Riley PTSO & parents, for your ongoing participation, support and collaboration with the school events throughout the year, and to ensure our students enjoyed every moment. I also thank you for your continued involvement and teamwork in creating a successful “village” for our babies. Thank you, Riley Faculty & Staff, for your dedication, diligence, and support. I appreciate you, and I am grateful for having had the opportunity to serve as your building principal. As I write this letter to you, I take all the memories I made with you and will keep them in my heart forever. Riley School has a special place in my heart and hope I can come to visit you upon your return. Please welcome and support Mr. Coughlin, your new principal at Riley School effective, July 1st. 39-Minute Walk was in full swing at Riley School. We have raised over $3,000 for the Pink Socs Cancer Foundation. Our students did an amazing job representing Riley School by walking, chanting and wearing pink during this Day of Service activity.
Day of Service 2023 was a giant success! Our student council members took lunch and served it to local healthcare workers in the community. Our students did a great job decorating the room and serving the staff members.
Good morning Riley Parents, Guardians and Staff, All activities have been moved back outside today. Although the air quality forecast for today was to lower to an unsafe level for sensitive individuals - middlesex county /South Plainfield has lowered beyond the prediction to the moderate level - therefore all outside activities moved indoors for the day of service - will now take place outside! If your child has a medical concern resulting from the air quality level at moderate - please contact the school nurse or main office. Thank you. Mrs. T. Grier-DuPiche
Good Evening Riley’s Parents and Guardians, I have several important reminders for tomorrow’s Day of Service: 1. The 39-Minute Walk will take place inside the building. The students and staff will walk several laps inside the gymnasium and hallway. 2. LUNCH- No worries for lunch tomorrow. Lunch will be provided. ALL STUDENTS will receive lunch tomorrow (either pizza, grab n’ go bag lunch, or they may bring in their own lunch when they arrive to school in the morning). 3. 39-MINUTE WALK FOR BREAST CANCER: If you haven’t done so already, please make a donation to the 39 minute walk tomorrow. Send in the name or names of anyone you would like us to walk in honor of or in memory of. Remember together we ARE the cure! 4. Safety Concern & Capacity: Unfortunately, being that the walk will take place inside the building due to the air quality conditions, parents will not be allowed to join us in the walk. We do not have enough spatial capacity to have everyone walking in the gym and throughout the hallways. Thank you for your continued support and cooperation. Mrs. T. Grier-DuPiche
Riley Staff had an AMAZING PD day. Staff participated in some amazing mindful practices and learned tons of new self-care skills. Thank you to all of our PD presenters! Cathy Scarpitto - Reiki Master; Darnell Jones - Painting; Chair Massages - Cheryl and Wanda; Zumba - Laurie Fetcher; Elevate your Life Motivational Speaker - Jason Queen; Coloring Room/Mindfulness Quiet Room - Mrs. DuPiche; and Outdoor cornhole/kickball/activities - Frank Gaspari
