The South Plainfield School District has been closely monitoring the weather forecast for tomorrow, Tuesday, February 13, 2024. According to the latest predictions, rain is expected to start this evening, transitioning into snow between 5am-6am. Heavy snowfall rates of 1-2 inches per hour are expected until 11 a.m., leading to a total accumulation of 5-8 inches. Unfortunately, this coincides with our morning commute, posing hazardous driving conditions. As a result, the South Plainfield School District will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, February 13, 2024 to ensure the safety of our students, faculty, and staff. Please be advised, all sporting events and practices are being rescheduled, and coaches will be reaching out to individual team members with further updates. As always, we thank you for the strong partnership between the South Plainfield community and the South Plainfield School District. Stay safe and warm.

We have been closely monitoring the weather forecast throughout the day and while what will happen is still unknown at this time, the recent forecast is calling for a range of 3-5 inches of accumulated snow for South Plainfield and the surrounding areas tomorrow.   As of this evening the snow is predicted to begin at 5:00 a.m. and continue throughout the school day, making for a hazardous afternoon commute.   As a result of the accumulated snow predictions along with a concern with staffing within our transportation department the South Plainfield School District will be closed tomorrow, Friday, January 19, 2024. All district activities, including sporting events and practices, are cancelled for the day.     Be safe.

June 30, 2023 Dear Riley Families, Students and Staff, The time has come for me to wish you all a wonderful and safe summer. Many of you are probably already catching a flight to the Caribbean, driving down the shore, or planning the next few weeks for some sunshine and fun. My time at Riley is coming to an end and I thank you all so much for your ongoing support, generosity and cooperation in making sure our students received the care and support they needed. To my students, my shining star; you have brought me so much joy during this entire year. I will always remember your wonderful hugs every day; your cards and notes of appreciation. It was so fulfilling to see your smiling faces and hear your laughter from your funny jokes and comments. Thank you, Riley PTSO & parents, for your ongoing participation, support and collaboration with the school events throughout the year, and to ensure our students enjoyed every moment. I also thank you for your continued involvement and teamwork in creating a successful “village” for our babies. Thank you, Riley Faculty & Staff, for your dedication, diligence, and support. I appreciate you, and I am grateful for having had the opportunity to serve as your building principal. As I write this letter to you, I take all the memories I made with you and will keep them in my heart forever. Riley School has a special place in my heart and hope I can come to visit you upon your return. Please welcome and support Mr. Coughlin, your new principal at Riley School effective, July 1st.
