100 Day Smarter! Celebrating the 100th day of school at Roosevelt Elementary.

Roosevelt Elementary students raised over $1,300 during our annual Coin Wars to donate to a local charity. Ms. Resti, Ms. Arancio, Mrs. Nicolay, and Dr. Karas allowed students from the winning grade (1st) to smash a pie in their face. Students were so motivated to raise funds and this event truly brought out school community together.

Congratulations to the latest Roosevelt Tiger Buck's recipient. We are so proud of their efforts to display good character each and every day.

Roosevelt Elementary School is proud to announce that our Student Council raised $1,205 for the Plainfield Humane Society to support their recovery after this summer’s storm.
Through our two-week Adopt-A-Pet fundraiser, students “adopted” stuffed dogs and cats to help an organization that provides shelter, care, and adoption services for abandoned, lost, and stray animals.
Thank you to our amazing students, families, and staff for your generosity and compassion!

Girls on the Run is a program offered to girls in third and fourth grade. Starting in September, we met twice a week after school for a total of 9 weeks. During our practices we worked on building friendships, self-esteem, and confidence as we worked towards a larger goal of completing a 5k race together. We participated in the Girls on the Run 5K in Somerville on Sunday, November 23. We are so proud of our girls for achieving their goal, and for encouraging each other throughout the race to cross the finish line!

Today our Kindergarten and 4th Grade Tiger Tails earned their very first letter in “STRIPES”!
For S – Start New Friendship, students completed a fun “get-to-know-you” activity where they learned about each other and started building new connections.
Our Tiger Tails leaders did an amazing job guiding the lesson, and the classrooms were filled with smiles, teamwork, and lots of excitement. All of the students had a wonderful time meeting their buddies and beginning this year’s STRIPES journey together!

Congratulations to Roosevelt's recently elected Student Council Executive Board. Claire, Myra, and Rosa will be serving for the remainder of the 25-26 school year as President, Vice President, and Secretary.

Congratulations to our Roosevelt October Students of the Month! These students exemplified our character trait of the month and we are so proud of their hard work, dedication, and character.

Today, October 29, Roosevelt students attended an environment assembly- The Illusion Maker. Combined with the excitement of magic, students learned about reusing, recycling, and reducing.

Roosevelt students experienced the power of magic during an assembly - “Abracabully”. This workshop built upon the I.C.A.R.E. acronym which stands for Individual, Community, Attitude, Respect, and Empathy. While weaving this acronym throughout the program, students discovered:
The difference between telling and tattling
What is a bystander?
How to become an “upstander”
Who to turn to when they have a problem
