The South Plainfield School District has been closely monitoring the weather forecast for tomorrow, Tuesday, February 13, 2024. According to the latest predictions, rain is expected to start this evening, transitioning into snow between 5am-6am. Heavy snowfall rates of 1-2 inches per hour are expected until 11 a.m., leading to a total accumulation of 5-8 inches. Unfortunately, this coincides with our morning commute, posing hazardous driving conditions. As a result, the South Plainfield School District will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, February 13, 2024 to ensure the safety of our students, faculty, and staff. Please be advised, all sporting events and practices are being rescheduled, and coaches will be reaching out to individual team members with further updates. We have been closely monitoring the weather forecast throughout the day and while what will happen is still unknown at this time, the recent forecast is calling for a range of 3-5 inches of accumulated snow for South Plainfield and the surrounding areas tomorrow.   As of this evening the snow is predicted to begin at 5:00 a.m. and continue throughout the school day, making for a hazardous afternoon commute.   As a result of the accumulated snow predictions along with a concern with staffing within our transportation department the South Plainfield School District will be closed tomorrow, Friday, January 19, 2024. All district activities, including sporting events and practices, are cancelled for the day.     Be safe.

Franklin School had a visit from Les Trouble, PI today! Students learned about conflict resolution and how to solve problems in four steps. Mr. Trouble, a problem investigator, and Spike, his sidekick, reinforced the "I message" Ms. Wu teaches and encourages us all to use when feeling upset, jealous angry, or sad. Practice it here: I feel _____ when you _____ and I want _____.
