SUBSCRIPTION BUSING REGISTRATION
FRIDAY, AUGUST 1ST, 8:00 AM SHARP
Dear Parents/Guardians,
The South Plainfield School District will offer subscription busing for the 2025-2026 school year beginning in September. Subscription busing will be available for elementary school students Pre K-4th who live over 1 mile from school and for students in grades 5th – 12th who live over 1.25 miles from school. Subscription bus seats will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Limited subscription busing seats will be available on existing bus routes for students who qualify with the mileage specified above. Once all seats are filled on a route, no additional seats or routes can be added.
Parents/guardians must log in to the PaySchools Central platform via the district website to register. Navigate to the “News” section and under “Subscription Busing Registration”, you can connect to the PaySchools Central platform. Bus routes will be listed, and parents/guardians will choose from the available routes. Bus routes will be listed with the bus stop cross streets so that you can make a decision based on the available route.
When a bus route is filled, the PaySchools Central system will no longer offer that route as an option. Please keep in mind that no additional seats or routes can be added. If you do not see a route listed as a choice, it means the bus route is filled.
The district has the following number of seats available for subscription busing at the time of this notification:

Franklin
Students do not meet the mileage requirement for subscription busing.
Kennedy

No Bus- All Routes Are Filled
Subscription busing registration will open at 8:00 a.m. sharp, Friday, August 1, 2025, and will remain open until all available seats are filled. To secure a seat, parents/guardians must be prepared to pay the full annual, non-refundable fee of $650.00 payable online through PaySchools Central at the time of registration. Once the registration has been confirmed in the system, you will receive a confirmation email. The district is unable to hold seats pending payment, and cash or checks will not be accepted. All payments must be made through the online system.
Please Note:
No additional stops will be added to the established routes.
Subscription busing is not available for Franklin or Roosevelt School.
Students who meet the transportation requirement per district policy 8600, as well as students with transportation listed in their IEP, will not be affected by subscription busing.
