The South Plainfield Public Library is excited to announce our 2025 Summer Reading Program! This year's theme is ''Color Our World'' Babies, toddlers, children, tweens, and teens are all encouraged to sign up and participate! The program runs for seven weeks (June 30 - August 17) and is designed to help prevent learning loss by motivating kids to read.
You may register and keep track of your progress online through ReadSquared (http://sppl.readsquared.com/), or you may register and check in at the library in person. (NOTE: Even if you used ReadSquared last year, you will need to create a new ReadSquared account!)
As usual, you may take part in either our picture book (READ TO ME, ages 0 - 7) or our chapter book (INDEPENDENT READERS, ages 6 - 18) program in order to earn small prizes each week each week. Participants will also have the opportunity to earn additional prizes based on the amount of reading they complete over the course of the summer.
Please note that ALL reading materials may be counted, including e-books, audiobooks, magazines, comic books & graphic novels. If an older sibling reads to a younger sibling, those titles may be counted by both participants!
Registration (both online and in person) will begin on MONDAY, JUNE 23, 2025 and titles may be logged until SUNDAY, AUGUST 17, 2025. Participants may begin claiming their prizes on MONDAY, JUNE 30, 2025!
