The South Plainfield School District has been closely monitoring the weather forecast for tomorrow, Tuesday, February 13, 2024. According to the latest predictions, rain is expected to start this evening, transitioning into snow between 5am-6am. Heavy snowfall rates of 1-2 inches per hour are expected until 11 a.m., leading to a total accumulation of 5-8 inches. Unfortunately, this coincides with our morning commute, posing hazardous driving conditions. As a result, the South Plainfield School District will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, February 13, 2024 to ensure the safety of our students, faculty, and staff.
Please be advised, all sporting events and practices are being rescheduled, and coaches will be reaching out to individual team members with further updates.
As always, we thank you for the strong partnership between the South Plainfield community and the South Plainfield School District. Stay safe and warm.
In an effort to support our local community of South Plainfield, the Riley Preschool Annex conducted it’s first annual Soup-er Bowl Food Drive! Students placed their donations into the bin of who they think will win the big game! Our preschoolers have not only learned about the importance of giving but have actively participated in making a positive impact. A huge thank you to Ms. Hall & Ms. Dulin for leading the charge and inspiring our preschoolers to embrace the spirit of giving. #tinytigers

Students of the Riley Preschool Annex attended a one-day only pop-up restaurant event called The Tiny Tigers Pizza Palace! Our multipurpose room was transformed into an old-school pizza joint filled with classic red and white checkered tablecloths, red brick backdrop, servers, and a hostess to round out the experience.
Chef Paul of Mulberry Street Restaurant came into our Pizza Palace and provided students with an interactive pizza dough and flour experience. Our Preschoolers learned the ropes of dining out from being greeted and seated by our restaurant hostess and servers, being escorted to their reserved tables, selecting items off a menu, and tasting a fresh slice of pizza. Swipe to see the excitement on their faces as they enjoyed their time in the restaurant! #tinytigers

The Riley Preschool Annex is thrilled to share the incredible moments of kindness that filled our preschool this week during the Great Kindness Challenge! Our little ones truly shined, spreading smiles that were contagious, sharing toys, helping friends with their belongings, and sweet gestures of friendship were plentiful. Our preschoolers have become masters of kind words! "Please" and "thank you" echoed through the halls, and compliments were sprinkled like confetti. As we wrap up the Great Kindness Challenge, let's carry the spirit of kindness forward. Every act, every word, and every smile makes a difference. #tinytigers
