Dear South Plainfield Preschool Families,

For those of you who may not already know, I will not be returning to South Plainfield next school year. As my time as Principal of the South Plainfield Preschool Programs comes to a close, I want to thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart.

It has been a true privilege to serve this community and to be a small part of your child's very first steps in their educational journey. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to witness countless moments of growth, joy, perseverance, and discovery. Watching our tiny tigers develop confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning has been one of the greatest rewards of my career.

I am deeply thankful for the partnership we have shared. The support, trust, and collaboration from our families have helped make our preschool program a special place for children to learn and thrive. While I had hoped to continue this journey with you, my time here has come to an end. Although this chapter is closing, I leave with tremendous pride in all that we have accomplished together.

I also want to personally thank everyone who supported the petition and shared such thoughtful comments, messages, and words of encouragement. The outpouring of kindness was incredibly moving. I have read your remarks several times, and they have meant more to me than I can adequately express. Your support during this time has been a gift that I will carry with me always.

As parents and caregivers, my advice is simple: never stop advocating for your children. You know them best, and your voice matters. Continue to be their champions, celebrate their successes, and support them through challenges. The partnership between families and schools is one of the most powerful influences on a child's success.

To provide an opportunity to say goodbye, I will be at Roosevelt Annex on Thursday (6/18) and Riley Annex on Friday (6/19). After this week, any questions or requests for next school year should be directed to Mrs. DuPiche or Mrs. Abundiz. I will be in district on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week, but I will not be present for the remainder of June.

Thank you again for your support, kindness, and partnership throughout my time in South Plainfield. I will always cherish the memories, relationships, and experiences we have shared. It has been an incredible journey.

I wish all of our families and students continued success, happiness, and wonderful adventures ahead. Enjoy a safe and relaxing summer, and keep learning and exploring. I will end on the same note that I tell the students every morning… and remember… be the reason someone smiles today.

With sincere gratitude,

Mr. David Zatta
