Congratulations to Grant School's students of the month!

Grant School's counselors are meeting with 5th and 6th grade to talk about gratitude. We are discussing the meaning and benefits of gratitude and discussing some simple ways to practice gratitude every day. Finally, we are showing our gratitude by making cards to say 'Thank You' to veterans.

Bridge to Balance Therapy Dogs visited Grant School today. Thank you to Mrs. Strayhorn and Mrs. Horn for organizing this assembly.


This year the Grant School PTO will host our first Super 50/50 Raffle. The event will run until our October PTO General Membership Meeting on October 10, 2023. Drawing will be held at 8pm. Winner need not be present!
The Raffle will have numerous prizes. Top Prize being 30% of the proceeds collected with 2 second prizes of 5% each of the proceeds and finally with 10 1% prizes.

This past Saturday many Grant School Choral students showcased their passion for singing alongside 270 other students in Central New Jersey in Grades 4 thru 8. Grant School would like to congratulate the following for their performance on Saturday. Olivia Andrada, Blaise Bailes, Liana Canarte, Ananya Kulkarni, Madelyn Leiman, Sofia Marabella, Santiago Matias, Eddie Montanez, Kyle Pagan, Olivia Rennie, Danielle Richter, Yug Rusia, Mikayla Scala, Ian Torres, Arjun Trivedi, and Arshi Trivedi.
Congrats also go to Isabella D'Ambrosio, Faith Kurilew, Angelina Ronzo, Katelyn Stevens, and Lauren Taveras who were nominated but could not attend.
Grant School's Music Teacher Miss Shannon Maddolin was selected to conduct the Elementary Treble Honors Chorus at the festival this year.

The South Plainfield School District hosted their second annual Band Festival Day on March 29 at the South Plainfield Middle School. 316 band students participated. Every band student from the High School, the Middle School, the Grant School and all four elementary schools participated. Each school played one piece by themselves and then they played it again with the older schools joining in.

Grant School Stem classes learned about Gerald “Jerry” Lawson who was the first African American to create the first video game console, the Fairchild Channel F.

Students from Grant School presented to the BOE "Open Mic," one of the many events happening at Grant School during Black History Month. Students memorized and presented famous poems by Langston Hughes and Maya Angelou. 6th grader Stacey Uba was the MC for the night introducing all the performers. The students did a fantastic job!

Grant School: South Plainfield Special Athletes Snowshoeing team competed at the Special Olympics Winter Games this week. The team earned three gold medals and a sixth place medal for the 200 and 100 meter dashes. Grant School’s Logan Staunton was one of the athletes to earn a gold medal!
